Snail Mail . . . do you love getting handwritten notes?

Growing up on the beach in New England, I was always fascinated by seashells and would spend hours searching for unusual examples and pretty rocks.  Later in life, my siblings and I also searched for shark's teeth on the Chesapeake Bay.  Some very fond memories!

I love this little snail, and incorporated the image into several variations of note cards: 

This one is kind of an "Andy Warhol-ish" take on the snails.  And of course, the ever useful Thank You note.

Note cards will be available in packs of 3 or packs of 4  - in the shop, later today.  Also check back soon for the announcement of the Winners from the last contest period.  In addition to the winners, there will also be some special surprises (a treasure hunt of sorts) for a few lucky people.  And a sneak peak on something new - Pocket Mirrors!

Perceptions . . .

Some days it feels like years since I've painted or really focused on my business.  Other days it feels like I still haven't had nearly enough time to get the things on my To Do list accomplished.  And sometimes, it feels a little like both.  Danielle's "True - False" on her chalkboard summed it up nicely for me - it just depends on which scenario you choose to focus your attention!

I'm back, and will be updating much more frequently in the days ahead.  Will be catching up on Contest Winners and posting new art.  Might also sneak a contest or two in as a mini reward for those of you patient enough to start visiting again after such a long break.

And what have I been up to these past 2 1/2 months?? 

Travel:
   7 = Number of states visited

Gardening:
 41 = Bareroot plants ordered still needing planting
 12 = wheelbarrows of weeds gathered (about 20 to go)
   5 = Trees planted
   2 = Bottles of Round Up used (about 5 to go)

Home:
700 = (appx) books moved and re-organized
  14 = Pieces of furniture moved
    7 = Trips to Goodwill (about 3 more to go)
    6 = Closets cleaned out and organized
    2 = Rooms repainted
    2 = 'Chalkboards' painted
 
and most importantly:

    2 = Teenage girls now happy with their bedrooms!
