New Paintings - at Valley Artworks

Recently, I'd renamed my original Etsy shop.  Valley Artworks seems to fit better than BeeDazzles . . . as the shop will continue to include more canvas paintings and original watercolors.  Here are a couple I'd completed lately.

This one is titled, "Rising Above" and is an original acrylic painting on a 36" x 24" gallery wrapped (back stapled) canvas. 

This striped one, appropriately titled, "Stripes and Whimsy" is a larger 48" x 24" original acrylic painting, also on gallery wrapped canvas.  The sides are painted black on these first two - so they're ready to hang.  No further framing needed.

This final painting is also a large 48" x 24" original acrylic, with the sides of the canvas painted brown.  A very calming painting titled, "Sunburst".   All available at http://ValleyArtworks.etsy.com.

Art Prints for Baby, Nursery, Inspiration and Home

After a long very long hiatus, I'm back.  I've been working on some designs for my newly opened Etsy shop "Artspeek" and am having a great time designing again. Here are a couple of my favorites . . .

I'll be adding many more designs in the next few weeks, and may be running a contest for a free giveaway sometime soon, if there's enough interest.  Your thoughts?   

Sweet Little Turtles . . . in BeeDazzles Etsy Shop tomorrow

Yes, I'm finally back to painting!  It's been a while.  Between recovering from all the house issues and then our middle daughter needing major surgery in December, I had to step away from the blog for a bit. 

The good news is our daughter is now doing just fine and I'm back, and with some new art.  Hoping this is just the tip of the iceberg . . . more paintings to come soon!

And you can see a peek of some of the Easter images I'll be working on (in the photo on the left). In addition to the Mini Notes, all images will eventually be available as Gift Tags, Pocket Mirrors, Magnets and most likely as Note Cards, as well.

Hope you're enjoying 2011 so far, it's been such a whirlwind I'm kind of shocked to find tomorrow is February already!

Congrats to Janice!  And thanks to all of you for entering the latest BeeDazzles contest!  I love giving stuff away - especially these magnets.  They're so fun and functional (and did I mention STRONG?) you'll be wanting to get rid of all your existing magnets and visit the shop for more!  Each small magnet holds up over 8 sheets of paper, but won't cover up artwork or important information.  Who couldn't use a set of these? They make great gifts, too.

So while the packaging was a long time in coming, it was worth the wait.   Now that it's settled I can get back to new artwork SOON.  So be on the lookout in the days ahead :)

On a personal note, working with all these flower and insect images has me really looking forward to Spring.  And Jim and I are in the process of planning several trips - always exciting.

Love Notes - for Valentine's Day

I had so much fun painting the designs for these sweet Love Notes earlier this week!  New heart mini notes (or gift tags) are just in time for Valentine's Day and come in 15 different designs in red, hot pink, purple and light pink.  This line joins the other sets of mini notes and gift tags already in the shop (Dragonflies, Owls, Mittens and Assortments).  Available in the shop at BeeDazzlesGifts, they retail for only $8 for a sweet box of 15 notes and envelopes.

I've used the other designs to surprise the girls with a note of cheer from time to time - they always love getting an unexpected word of encouragement tucked into their bag or backpack.  And with the addition of these Valentine notes - I'm thinking up some great ideas to use these for a little surprise for Jim.

Hello . . . some cheery notes for Spring

Well, we're finally past the coldest week of the year.  Historically speaking, that is.  But warmer days are definitely ahead!  And with the longer periods of sunlight each day, I can't help but think of Springtime and Easter.  Which prompted this set of 4 cheery note cards.  In my Etsy shop, sometime tomorrow.

Last night Jim and I went to see The Blind Side, and really enjoyed it.  Tonight we had "Game Night" with the kids and some of their friends and played Apples to Apples. I've really enjoyed my down time these past 5 weeks, but am also definitely ready to get all the kids back to school (next week Katie returns for her Spring semester) and have the house - and my studio - quiet.  I seem to do my best painting when I'm alone, something that has worked against me since Katie's fall semester ended in mid December.

In the next few weeks I'm also hoping to get some gardening plans finalized.  Though here in Minneapolis the last frost can occur quiet late in the year so it's really not a top priority right now - just something I really enjoy!

Whew, finished another one.  Later I'll be transferring these images over to Pocket Mirrors, Art Pendants, Mini Notes and Gift Tags.  For now I have some urgent matters . . .  er . . .  housework to attend to :)  The crumbs on the kitchen floor are forming an army and threatening to attack as I type this.

Sweet Little Christmas Birdies :)

My sleep schedule has been off lately, which means I'm having a lot of quiet time in the mornings.  Have been putting that to good use by getting some more Holiday Artwork finished.  Yayy!! 

The only issue so far?  I'm having a hard time choosing which one I like best!

This year most cards are being offered with a choice of phrases on the front, at no additional charge.  Any that say "Happy Holidays", "Merry Christmas" or "Season's Greetings" can be switched to one of the other phrases for free.  And personalization is available on ALL cards, for a small added fee.  See shop listings in Holiday Items section of my Etsy shop for details.
