Spring will be here before we know it. And I for one, cannot wait. My thoughts are quickly turning to flowers, flowers and more flowers. In the meantime, here is a sweet daisy pendant to keep me happy. Set in pewter behind a crystal clear hand-cut glass dome. Ahhhh . . .
Think I'll take a little time this week to plan some new garden beds in our backyard :)

Just a few of the designs going into the shop this week.
We've been jumping to and fro the past week or so with the weird weather. First it's hot (well over 90 degrees!) and we were rushing to get all the newly planted trees and flowers watered. Coupled with some ' Bermuda Triangle ' spots on the lawn that somehow miss the getting watered by the sprinkler system, well, let's just say it took a fair amount of time - and the truth be told some cash bribes to the kids - to keep everything from turning brown.
Then came yesterday and today. Was it really only 66 degrees?? I had to go outside with a coat on to keep from shivering.
It's supposed to be back to 88 tomorrow, so maybe my little hummingbirds will come out to visit my window feeder again. They're so fun to watch, but tend to hibernate when it's too chilly out.

What a great day so far - the kids are back in school, Jim's back to work and I've been 'buzzing' around getting so many things accomplished! Will be listing the new pendants in the Shop later today - here's is another sneak preview - one I really, really LOVE. Since opening my Etsy shops, I've received many emails from people telling me how much they love the 'water-color wash' technique I use in the backgrounds of many of my paintings, and this one is probably my favorite!
Yesterday was also a lot of fun. Had a very productive morning, and then it was off to the Metrodome to watch our beloved Vikings get eliminated from the NFL playoffs. Denise, Charlie, Jim and I were obviously disappointed, but it was just thrilling to be IN the playoffs and we were thankful the Vikes had made it this far given the team's 1-3 start of the season.
Hope you all are also finding yourselves in good spirits as we begin 2009!!
Like most moms, I can get overwhelmed with the sheer number of issues on my agenda each day. Inertia can sometimes be the result. And can you imagine a more counter-productive reaction?? I certainly can't. So my one
and only one New Years
Resolution is to overcome that urge when it strikes. I tend to be a list maker, and have vowed to cross at least one thing - no matter how small it may be - off the list instead of giving in to the urge to fret about another item that is just not getting done. As I always tell the kids, set a goal and then just mind the details - the big picture will take care of itself.
On that note - here are two more new pendant designs. These are two of about 7 new designs to be shown in the next couple of days. I'm also making progress on more new artwork. There will be new prints and note cards later this week.
And fitness - again I'm taking things one step at a time. Managed 2.25 miles
on the treadmill on Friday, and another 2.6 miles today. Yayy me :)

I'm really, really excited about the latest development with the BeeDazzles Art Pendants - they're now available . . . hand set In pewter!! What an awesome finishing touch that just sets off the artwork to perfection. Available in the shop, naturally :)
The past few days have been spent getting caught up on orders and tying up last minute preparations for the upcoming festivities. We have several events planned in the next week or so, and it will be a flurry of activity. To better enjoy that time, I will be paring back shop inventories to bare minimums. The shops will re-open at full capacity on January 2 with tons of new inventory!!
So be sure to pop in back here from time to time to see what is coming down the pipeline. Sneak previews every few days, for your viewing pleasure.

I'm loving these new additions to the BeeDazzles pendant line!! They're all hand painted, one of a kind, and will be 'swimming' into the the shop in the next day or so. Will be supplying Notorious Nellie's Handcrafted Goodness with a handful of these, as well.
The whimsical designs made me so happy, I decided to turn out some more bird pendants with the same sweet (almost festive!) feel. 
Aren't these just the sweetest?? Even my oldest daughter loves them to pieces :)
After spending the better part of the weekend pendant-making, Jim and I decided to head into the gorgeous town of Stillwater for a picnic dinner at Pioneer Park. I made "Chipotle-style" steak and bean wraps, and we shared a romaine salad with feta cheese and pico de gallo. Delicious!! And the overlook onto the river was just magnificent, as always. One of our favorite spots :)

It was a wonderful, productive, yet also very relaxing weekend here. Managed to get about 40 pendants made and caught up on many non-shop issues. Life is good.
As for the bird pendants - here they are totally finished! I so love how these sweet little goodies turned out!! They're about 1 1/2" wide and only 3/4" tall, a perfect size to go with just about anything :)
